Plot
Blended is the third romantic comedy film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The film revolves around the story of two single parents, Jim and Lauren, whose first encounter ended in the worst.
Jim (Adam Sandler) is a single father of three daughters after his death from his wife. He works at a sporting goods store and takes care of the family. Lauren (Drew Barrymore) is an independent woman who raises two sons after divorcing her husband, earning a living by helping friends with their wardrobe business.
The two meet on a blind date, but their first meeting was a disaster. Due to different values and personality differences, they vow not to meet again. However, by chance, the two families are on vacation at the same African safari resort. They are uncomfortable with each other at first, but as time goes by, they start to get closer in harmony with their families.
Jim's daughters accept Lauren as warm and her sons enjoy sports activities with her. The two families bond through various safari activities, and Jim and Lauren become attracted to each other in the process. The movie portrays the importance of love and family through the process of "blended" two families as one.
a review of one's feelings
Blended is a fitting blend of comical elements and warm familial love that puts a smile on your face throughout the movie. Adam Sandler's chemistry with Drew Barrymore shines throughout this movie as well, and their natural performance immerses the audience in the movie.
The movie cheerfully deals with the complex structure of the modern family. As divorce, remarriage, and mixed families have become commonplace in the modern world, the way these themes are presented in comedy and drama is very impressive. In particular, the process by which Jim and Lauren's first encounter gradually turns into harmony is touching and humorous.
In addition, the film offers visual pleasure through the exotic backdrop of an African safari. Beautiful natural scenery and various animals are featured, and the feeling of relaxation and healing given by the setting of vacation also adds to the charm of the film.
The most impressive scene is the various safari activities of the two families together. In particular, it was touching to see Jim and Lauren gradually build a bond as a family by taking care of their children. It was also very heartwarming to see children from different families getting closer like siblings.
